After my sister had passed away after battling addiction and experiencing homelessness, I realised how much of myself I had lost. I had spent most of my time overwhelmed, constantly anxious and struggling with the guilt of not being able to 'fix' the addiction or 'save' Hannah. I started to suffer with panic attacks and was diagnosed with PTSD. I was not putting myself first or doing anything I loved anymore, I felt as though I was simply existing, struggling with the guilt of failing and feeling as though I was responsible for trying to manage my sister's addiction.
By working on myself through coaching, focusing on boundaries and prioritising myself helped me to start to push those feelings of guilt and responsibility behind. My sleep improved and I enjoyed exercising again and the anxiety of being around alcohol began to subside. I began to enjoy life more without feeling guilty for doing so and with my confidence increasing allowed me to push myself out of my comfort zone than I ever thought possible.
Coaching is a collaborative process, and allows for a space to work on goals, enhance self development, gain clarity, and make change. It is client-centered and provides a time dedicated for you.
Please note that coaching is not advice given.
I offer a space for women who are struggling with their loved ones addiction reclaim their confidence and ability to enjoy life and set boundaries without feeling guilty.
I am an adult sibling of an alcoholic myself and understand the challenges and complexities that addiction can place on families and friends. My lived in experience of supporting my sister during her addiction means I offer a true understanding of the feelings and thoughts that a loved ones addiction can bring.
My education includes an accredited diploma in Coaching and Positive Psychology trained by Andy Ramage and the Arete Way team, Level 2 in Counselling studies and I am also a Mental Health First Aider.
I do not offer any answers but I provide a space for us to work together, offering accountability and bringing in tools and techniques to help overcome obstacles and implement action plans.
To ensure we are a great fit and before making any investment, we will also have a quick 15-minute Zoom chat so I can answer any questions and provide more information.
After this meeting, I like to give you 24 hours to reflect. If you are ready to proceed, you can let me know and I will set everything up so we can begin to transform your confidence and boundary setting so you can feel less guilty and enjoy life more again.
Coaching sessions are one hour and are £40 each.
I would recommend booking in a block of four sessions as limiting to one session may not give enough time for the desired outcome.
'From our first session, Amber put me at ease and I worked through the key areas I was lacking in confidence in and needed some help in. Amber was extremely good at listening, breaking things down and asking the right questions to really get me thinking about positive routes and thoughts I needed to think about, in order for me to grow in confidence and achieve what I had dreamt of doing for a long time. Amber has lifted so much weight off my shoulders that I had been carrying around for a very long time. With her help, I have the confidence with the process to achieve my goals - if they initially take a little longer to do, then that's ok. I can not recommend Amber enough, she was professional, trustworthy and gave me positive reinforcements to keep me on track.
Thank you so much Amber, you have been a dream to work with.'

'I have wanted to write a complete novel for many, many years. Since I was young I've loved reading and writing, making up worlds and telling stories people can relate to. Being able to work with Amber to achieve my life goal has been nothing but a positive, uplifting and emotional journey. I do struggle to open up to people and allow them to see how I am feeling and what I am thinking, but Amber has made me feel beyond comfortable in my own skin and also validated my feelings and helped me process the highs and lows as I navigate my way through this journey to my final goal. I am so grateful for having her by my side during this experience, and she has helped me to self reflect and keep moving forward despite any challenges. I have laughed and cried with Amber on this journey, and she has given me a place to be unashamedly myself. I have navigated feeling guilty, worthless, excited, scared and more, but I ultimately always come away from sessions feeling hopeful and excited for what may come. I have loved this experience and what it's taught me about myself and what I'm truly capable of, whilst also showing myself kindness and grace along the way. Amber has made all this possible and I am forever grateful.'
